The Role of the Sustainable Marketing Internship

Upcycled by FE is a social project which aims to clean water bodies through river clean ups, and creating products from landfilled bound waste.
Our goal is to develop communities towards sustainable projects (PPR Lembah Subang as an example), and collaboration with local governmental bodies to develop projects which tackle the problems of plastic waste.


In 2023, Upcycled by FE’s agenda is to develop a circular economy for plastic waste management with corporates & school groups, and thus requires attention towards sales and marketing aspects for our products & activities.
As such, we are looking for interns which have an interest in marketing & sales, as well as assisting in developing sustainable projects to rehabilitate the 10km stretch of Kayu Ara River.

Being part of Fuze Ecoteer, you will also be part of our freelancer group, facilitating groups to Marine & Terrestrial projects across Peninsular Malaysia.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Marketing

■ Write articles about our projects to be posted on various online and offline media.
■ Develop nice photos and videos to help market our products.
■ Develop Point of Sales info to be used during events and to help promote sales for third parties.

Sales

■ Manage corporate clients and assist them to develop more sustainable practices within their offices and operations.
■ Upload and manage products on various online platforms such as WooCommerce, Etsy, Lazada and new ones.
■ Write to organisations to ask them if they are keen to stock and sell our items – dive centres, aquariums, coffee shops, corporate gifts etc
■ Help third parties to sell our products by supporting them.
■ Write a monthly report for both marketing and sales.

Personal Specification

■ Able to communicate & write well in English.
■ Interest in integrating skills in sustainability & business.
■ Working remotely independently & being able to meet up once a week in person.
■ Getting your hands dirty during clean ups.
■ Have your own laptop and internet connection.
■ Able to work remotely will meet with the team once a week.

Requirements

■ Passion for writing and ocean plastic issues.
■ Able to write well in english.
■ Able to commit to a minimum of 3 months.
■ Highly organised and ability to work to a schedule.
■ Team player but also comfortable working independently.
■ Efficient time management skills and able to meet deadlines.

Benefits

■ 3% of total sale as commission based on profit or revenue based if lead sourced from companies or independent respectively.
■ RM150 a day as commission for facilitating groups & corporate CSR activity.
■ Internal training for business development & project management.
